Rye Harbour RNLI Lifeboat launches to yacht 'Serene', suffering engine failure

Rye Harbour RNLI relief Lifeboat, B722 launched on Monday 25 August 2008 at 3.35 pm to the 26ft sail yacht 'Serene' suffering from engine failure. RNLI Lifeboat B722 arrived at the casualty at 3.57 pm and was taken in tow and returned to Rye Harbour where she was placed on her moorings at 5.30 pm.

Richard Tollett, RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager at Rye Harbour said: ‘It's been a busy day at the station, the souvenir shop was open and we have had a high number of visitors looking around the station. The RNLI is an independent charity reliant upon volunteers and is funded by voluntary donation's not HM Government’
