06/01/2008 7 pm REFERENCE: 080106-1900 UPDATE TO PREVIOUS NEWS RELEASE.Rye Harbour RNLI lifeboat, B727, currently on service: searching for person(s) in the water.At 9 pm Rye Harbour RNLI Lifeboat, B727, was tasked by Dover Coastguard to continue searching the River Rother, from Iden lock to the RNLI lifeboat station at Rye Harbour, for person(s) in the water. A thorough search of the River Rother was conducted. Rye Harbour lifeboat, B727, arrived back at the RNLI station at 9.20 pm. The Coastguard were informed that no person(s) had been found. Rye Harbour lifeboat was stood down at 9.25 pm.Previously: Rye Harbour RNLI Lifeboat B727 launched at 6.35 pm to help search for a potential missing canoeist between Monkbretton Bridge and Iden Lock on the River Rother. Dover Coastguard requested Rye Harbour RNLI lifeboat launch after an empty canoe and paddle were found on the River Rother at Iden END Notes to editors
